The Bailey Project
We believe housing is a right—not a privilege. Yet the systems that govern housing are broken, and those most affected are often denied the tools, knowledge, and pathways to protect their homes and futures. Our mission is to disrupt these systems, remove barriers to ownership and stability, and put knowledge and power back into the hands of communities.
At The Bailey Project, we take the lessons learned from Calbert & Harris and turn them into practical learning experiences. Through hands-on support, cohort-based learning, and interactive classes, we equip families and community members with the knowledge, tools, and guidance they need to navigate moments of growth, stability, and crisis. Our programs focus on supporting families, uncovering hidden needs, and preparing communities to protect homes and build long-term security.

The Bailey Legacy
The Bailey Project is inspired by the five-generation legacy of the Bailey family of Providence, Rhode Island—a tradition of service, leadership, and commitment to the Black community and the city as a whole.
From the founding of the Bailey Funeral Home to the naming of the Robert L. Bailey IV Elementary School, the Bailey family invested in dignity, opportunity, and community well-being. The Bailey Project carries this legacy forward by expanding access to resources, strengthening families, and creating pathways to stability, empowerment, and ownership—turning a history of care into a movement for today’s communities.
