The Bailey Project
The Bailey Project is redefining how housing and care come together to serve people, not profit. We connect real estate, social work, and congregate care to advance the belief that housing is a human right—fighting displacement, reducing homelessness, and building community-driven housing strategies for our most vulnerable neighbors.
Rooted in lived experience and systems-level leadership, we know that lasting change happens when compassion, housing, and opportunity align. That’s why we design community-centered housing models that stabilize lives, preserve affordability, and create pathways to ownership and upward mobility.
Through education, training, and community hubs, we ensure our knowledge and services reach the people and places that need us most. By linking care systems with housing innovation, The Bailey Project is building stronger, safer, and more connected communities—one home, one provider, and one family at a time.

The Bailey Legacy
The Bailey Project is inspired by the legacy of the Bailey family of Providence, Rhode Island—a family rooted on the East Side whose impact has spanned five generations of service, leadership, and dedication to the Black community and the city as a whole.
From the establishment of the Bailey Funeral Home to the naming of the Robert L Bailey IV Elementary School, the Bailey family has consistently invested in the well-being, dignity, and future of their neighbors. Their legacy is one of servant leadership, resilience, and forward thinking—a tradition that remains as vital today as it was generations ago.
The Bailey Project carries that legacy forward by focusing on disruption, education, community, family, and progress. Just as the Bailey family broke barriers and created spaces of opportunity, the Project works to level the playing field, expand access to resources, and help individuals and families move toward stability, empowerment, and ownership.
At its heart, The Bailey Project is about continuing a tradition of care and leadership—not only preserving a family’s rich history but also transforming it into a living, breathing movement for today’s communities.
