Aunt Del's House exists to address Providence's housing affordability crisis by helping the educators and school employees who serve our community access affordable housing, build financial stability, and achieve homeownership.

About the house

Aunt Del's House is a supportive shared home created exclusively for Providence Public School employees. Residents enjoy affordable housing while receiving credit coaching, budgeting support, homeownership counseling, savings strategies, and financial education designed to help them reduce expenses, build wealth, and become homeowners.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants may be eligible if they:

Be employed by Providence Public Schools (teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, administrative staff, food service, transportation, support staff, etc.)
Be seeking affordable housing while working toward greater financial stability or homeownership.
Be willing to participate in the house's financial coaching and homeownership program.
Demonstrate the ability to live respectfully in a shared home environment.
Meet the program's income, background, and occupancy requirements.

APPLYING

Mareesa's House is a supportive housing program designed for individuals who will benefit from coordinated care, case management, and housing stabilization services.

Most residents are referred by healthcare providers, hospitals, social workers, behavioral health professionals, community organizations, or other partner agencies. Individuals without a referral may also be considered after completing an eligibility assessment with The Bailey Project.

Mareesa believed that the greatest work we can do is to lift others up. She empowered people, offered wisdom without judgment, and was always ready to help someone find hope, direction, and a solution. No matter who they were or what they faced, she made people feel seen, valued, and capable of moving forward.

She often said, "This is the heartwork." For Mareesa, heartwork meant serving others with compassion, faith, and purpose.
